Bill 18, A Stronger Workplace for a Stronger Economy, was passed by the Ontario Government on November 6, 2014. The Bill expands the definition of a worker, to include unpaid Co-op students and other unpaid learners. This expanded definition gives students protection under the Occupation Health and Safety Act, and gives students the right to know such as workplace hazards and the right to refuse unsafe work.

Brightshores needs to ensure Health and Safety and violence prevention training for students. The following online learning modules as well as unit specific training provides students with the information to fulfill these requirements.
